First Doctoral Thesis from the IUS

Interreligious Dialogue and Chiara Lubich


With a History Degree from the University of Padua, Dr. Paolo Frizzi from Trent,  will be the first candidate to finish his Research Doctorate at the IUS in “Foundations and Perspectives for a Culture of Unity” – Theological tract.


On Wednesday, November 7,  2012, at 11:00 am, in the main hall of the Institute, there will be the presentation of the dissertation, centred on the interreligious dialogue promoted by Chiara Lubich in the historic-cultural milieu of this era. 
The title of the thesis is “ Christianity and Religions in the Nineteen Hundreds: the Intuition and the Life Events of Chiara Lubich. Story, Theology, Society.”


The research itinerary was accompanied by Piero Coda, professor of Systematic Theology and president of the IUS, as thesis mentor; Paolo Siniscalco, professor emeritus of History of Christianity at the Sapienza University in Rome, and Bernhard Callebaut, professor of Foundations of Social Sciences at the IUS, as co-mentors.
